About the Author

Trish Bell is...

A fiction writer and romance novelist with Native Hawaiian heritage who grew up next to the ocean and favors life in warmer, wetter climates. She has two very large, lovable cats, and she would one day like to add both a Saint Bernard and a Great Dane to her happy pet family!

Trish has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing, as well as seven years of on-the-job experience in technical writing. Over the years, Trish has spent time in a broad spectrum of career fields, working as a retail sales associate, a military intelligence reporter, an environmental auditor, a software training developer, a test administrator, a real estate salesperson, and a foreign language analyst... among other things! :-)

Trish is an active member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA) as well as the American Screenwriters Association. Trish is on the Board of Directors for the Elements of RWA, an RWA Chapter geared toward helping writers who tend to write outside of the traditional romance box.

Her favorite novels, both to read and to write, are hot & steamy paranormal romance novels--the more visceral the erotic content, the better! Z-z-zing!

Eroticism aside, Trish's unique sense of humor tends to creep its quirky (and sometimes sarcastic) way into her writing at unexpected moments, a phenomenon she continually wrestles with during the revision process.

Why? Because Trish believes that romance is just as much about laughter, passion, and zest for life as it is about love, and she often purposefully stirs these elements together in her writing--creating a melting pot of emotions she likes to think of as "the romp." Like romance, the romp is loads of fun, but sometimes messy! :-)

The tone of Trish's writing sometimes has a sense of lilting irreverence similar to that of Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series, but her writing is also strongly influenced by her love of darker, highly-sensual paranormal romance by authors such as Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Kelley Armstrong.

Trish hopes you will enjoy hours of uninhibited frolicking with her stories' characters, once her manuscripts make their way to (*mumble, cough*) inevitable publication.

In her spare time, Trish has recently begun coordinating a *free* Yahoo Group called Endurance Writing, a group geared at helping writers finish longer drafts in shorter amounts of time, using a technique affectionately termed WordSprints.

Over the past few years, Trish has completed several short stories and novel manuscripts. She worked her way through her first full-length novel manuscript, Swirled Whirled, as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2005.

In keeping with tradition, Trish made significant headway on her second and third full-length novel manuscripts during NaNoWriMo 2006 and 2007, and she is halfway through a fourth manuscript as well, thanks to the overwhelming support of the great group of writers she's found at Endurance Writing.

Her current revision project is the brainchild of NaNoWriMo 2006, a supremely action- and character-packed erotic futuristic fantasy originally entitled Bodily Constraints, which she is in the process of expanding and reworking into a trilogy.

Trish is an avid supporter of the environment and an Armed Forces veteran.

Laughter. Love. Passion. Experience the ROMP.
